Johan Wideberg earned his MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious University of Lund, Sweden, laying the foundation for his illustrious career. However, his thirst for knowledge didn’t stop there; he went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Seville, solidifying his commitment to advancing the field.
Armed with a diverse skill set, Mr. Wideberg ventured into the corporate realm, gaining four years of invaluable experience in multinational companies specializing in Research and Development. However, academia called him back, and for the next 25 years, he became an integral part of the University of Seville. Within the Transport Engineering and Infrastructure group, he not only contributed to research but also served as the deputy director of the School of Engineering for nine years.
Johan Wideberg’s quest for knowledge took him beyond borders, with research stays at KTH, Sweden, and University College London. These experiences broadened his perspective and added a global dimension to his work.
His research, with a keen emphasis on heavy vehicles and port engineering, addresses critical challenges in the field. As the principal investigator in numerous national plan projects and privately funded initiatives, he has led groundbreaking research endeavors, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of sustainable engineering.
